Discovery of extra large dolomite ore in Hebi
Time:2020-05-25
On July 24, it was learned from the Bureau of Geology and mineral resources of Henan province that a super large dolomite mine was discovered in Hebi recently by the first hydrological team of the Bureau. After preliminary estimation, the resource reserve is about 255 million tons.
The mining area is located in the western mountainous area of Qi County, Hebi City, covering an area of about 31.87 square kilometers. It is found that the ore body lithology in the area is medium thick oolitic dolomite, the ore body scale is large, the metallogenic geological conditions are good, and the structure is relatively simple.
According to Huangfu Xingfeng, chief engineer of the first hydrological team, the ore quality grade in the mining area is relatively stable and it is a high-quality metal magnesium raw material. The orebodies are distributed in a stratified and balanced way, with a mining thickness of 4 meters, and most of the exposed surface, so it is suitable to build a large-scale mining base for open-pit mining.
Hebi is the largest processing and export base of magnesium powder, magnesium scraps and magnesium particles in China. It is also the production and processing export base of high-quality metal magnesium and magnesium alloy series, the production and processing base of calcium magnesium series products in China, and the cleaner production and comprehensive utilization production demonstration base of silicothermic magnesium smelting in China. The production of magnesium powder (scraps and particles) accounts for more than 70% of the total production in China. (source: Henan Daily)
